The clinical picture of RA is florid and progressive, although among its early manifestations is the involvement of the small joints of the hands (phalanges and wrists) and the joints of the ankles.
The preliminary diagnosis of a patient with inflammatory polyarthritis is that of undifferentiated arthritis, since less than half meet the criteria of RA of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR, acronym for its name in English Flekosteel, American College of Rheumatology).
